Transparency & How We Operate
Pull The Plug Patches was built around a simple principle:
Create high-quality merchandise while operating through official licensing and professional partnerships.
This page explains how we work.
1. Licensing & Artist Partnerships
We operate under formal licensing agreements with artists or their authorized representatives.
These agreements typically include:
• Design approvals
• Licensing advances
• Royalty payments
• Reporting obligations
Licensed merchandise ensures artists are compensated for the use of their intellectual property.
All current products are produced under authorization.
2. Our Early Evolution
Like many independent brands, our earliest stage looked different from what we are today.
Before formal licensing relationships were established, a limited number of unlicensed items were produced during the brand’s developmental phase.
As the company matured, we transitioned fully into licensed operations and formal agreements.
Our current structure reflects that growth.
3. Design & Artwork
Every product design falls into one of the following categories:
• Licensed directly from the rights holder
• Commissioned under agreement
• Created with documented permission
We do not use artwork without authorization.
We also actively protect our own intellectual property.
4. Production & Manufacturing
We work directly with established manufacturing partners and oversee production specifications.
Our relationships with manufacturers are long-term and voluntary.
We are not a drop-shipping business.
Production logistics may evolve over time as the company grows, but product development and quality standards remain under our direction.
5. Product Quality
We specialize in premium woven and embroidered merchandise.
Our focus includes:
• High stitch density
• Durable backing
• Clean edge finishing
• Controlled production runs
Quality consistency is a priority across all releases.
6. Release Structure
We offer different types of releases:
• Numbered limited editions (not reprinted)
• Time-window releases
• Open releases with controlled restocks
Release details are disclosed at launch.
We do not mass-produce beyond the scope of each project.
7. Intellectual Property & Enforcement
We do not control artist intellectual property.
Rights holders determine how and when enforcement actions occur. We are a licensee not a licensor.
If defamatory claims are made about our business, we may address them through appropriate legal channels.
We do not engage in public disputes.
8. Use of AI
We do not use AI-generated artwork in our product designs.
Our creative process involves human artists, designers, and approved source materials.
9. Our Position Within the Scene
The battle jacket community has deep DIY traditions rooted in personal creativity.
We respect and support individual DIY expression.
However, there is a clear distinction between personal customization and the unauthorized commercial sale of protected intellectual property.
Pull The Plug Patches operates exclusively within formal licensing frameworks. Our products are produced under agreements that ensure artists and rights holders are compensated for the use of their work.
Unauthorized commercial merchandise does not provide compensation to artists and operates outside those agreements. This distinction matters - not only for legal reasons, but for the long-term sustainability of officially licensed merchandise.
Our role is to provide authorized options for customers who wish to directly support artists through legitimate channels.
We believe creativity and professional licensing can coexist within the broader community.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
• Operating through formal licensing
• Paying artist royalties
• Maintaining product quality
• Conducting business professionally
• Continuing to evolve responsibly
Growth brings scrutiny.
